Join The Sewing Workshop team for a magical week in France sewing the La Fonda Jacket in linen. The team will be on hand to guide students every step of the way through the sewing process. Students will sew at their own pace for a relaxed and fun experience.
About this course:
By the end of the workshop, each student will have completed their own La Fonda Jacket and leave with valuable garment-making skills that can be applied to future sewing projects.
What you will learn:
● How to cut and prepare linen fabric
● Seam finishes
● Attaching a collar and stand
● Set in a sleeve
● Creating bias trim
● Working with curved edges
● Working with linen fabric: fabric handling, pressing, topstitching
The La Fonda is a stylish garment that can be worn as a jacket or blouse. It features designer details such as a two-piece lantern sleeve, contrast bias trim, a wide double-placket and a collar and stand with two options: round or straight. Sewists can design their own through mixing fabrics, adding pops of print with bias trim, or even keeping it simple with one fabric. We encourage playing with patterns and look forward to seeing everyone’s unique La Fonda.
