Join internationally renowned modern quilter and instructor Daisy Aschehoug at Atelier Clos Mirabel. This perfect soothing setting combined with focused expert instruction will give you long lasting joy and motivate you to undertake more ambitious quilted art works.
About this course:
Enjoy a week of sewing amongst new friends in a location full of creative inspiration. All levels of experience are welcome. Daisy will present several strategies for creating circle quilts, and based on what resonates with your aesthetic goals. She will support you through the entire quilt making process: piecing, basting, quilting, and binding your project.
All of the circle quilt strategies have eye-catching designs, and we’ll arrange the fabrics to create the most visual impact. Add a sentimental element to your project by bringing a few cherished scraps or clothing items from loved ones to upcycle into your project.
Beginning quilters will learn a range of piecing techniques including improvisational piecing, foundation paper piecing, and curved piecing – as well as a variety of finishing techniques like hand quilting and binding. Experienced quilters will pick up new tricks throughout all of these steps and continue to hone skills with Daisy Aschehoug’s instruction.
Daisy is so excited to lead you in this welcoming, creative space, whether you’re just starting or continuing your quilting journey.
