Molly Reeder is an artist specializing in botanical, plant & food story. She paints large scale detailed watercolors of edible & plant-based subjects, highlighting their unique beauty and innate healing. She is particularly inspired by the weaving threads within land and plant ancestry, and the wisdom of the natural world. Molly seeks meaningful collaborations through the lens of her artwork, where her paintings and illustrations help to support and showcase community & human rights organizations, and especially environmental/climate activism efforts.
Molly is also currently being trained as an herbalist and incorporates the healing medicine of plants into her workshops and offerings.
She spent many years traveling and living across the world in places such as New Zealand, Bulgaria and Hawaii. Molly now finds a home in the mountains of Appalachia (Shawnee land) with her husband and pup. She is inspired by herbalism, plant magic, and the human connection and narrative within these.
I really enjoyed Molly’s strategies to make studio time more precious than the products. I regularly use techniques I learned in class and will forever incorporate a tiny bit of Molly's style in all my work.
I liked the relaxed vibe of the workshop. There was clear direction and teaching of how to paint but not so formal that one felt pressure.
I appreciated how you were able to bring a wide variety of people and skill levels into the art process - that is difficult to do well and you did that with calm expertise. Very much appreciated. Sometimes people with great talent are not as skilled in sharing the collective space of process with students. I hope all this makes sense. I really enjoyed the workshop. It was a pleasure. Your artwork is stunningly good and I felt privileged to have time with you and hear your thoughts and guidance.
Loved the private lesson, the carefully selected models were lovely, the instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the environment was so relaxing and fun. I only wish we had more time together! 2 hours went by so fast.
