Join Mario Andres Robinson at Atelier Clos Mirabel in South West France for a week of painting. Classes will take place in the grounds of Clos Mirabel, in the studio and on location.
About this course:
This workshop will focus on accurately drawing and painting a portrait outdoors. The live model will sustain a single pose for the duration of the session. This sustained focus on the model will allow students to slow down and render the subject in a comprehensive manner. Students will execute a detailed drawing of the model and learn how to employ a monochromatic block-in to properly identify the values of the subject. The class will culminate with a full colour application of color, using thin glaze layers of watercolor. The objective of the workshop is to demonstrate how a methodical approach increases the depth and sense of realism in paintings. The tutor will give a demonstration and provide personal instruction throughout the week.
