Join Samantha Buckley for an exciting painting workshop exploring the traditional techniques of Indian miniature painting. The park and gardens of Atelier Clos Mirabel including century old trees, will inspire your artwork and provide a relaxing setting for this week-long creative retreat in South West France.
About this course:
During this course, students will discover the traditional techniques of Indian miniature painting, focusing in particular on the wonderful world of trees. Exploring the pattern, texture and colour, students will learn how to prepare and burnish their paper in the traditional Indian way, as well as making paints from pigments.
The delicate technique of Prataj (shading) will also be taught using the very fine Indian squirrel hair brush unique to this art form.
There will also be an opportunity to look at the beautiful trees of Clos Mirabel and transform them into their very own Indian miniature style tree.
