A sensitive and tactile artist, Maddie Rose Hills is working in the tradition of Twentieth Century texture-orientated painters like Yves Klein, Antoni Tapiès or Miguel Barcèlo. However, she also incorporates the actual process of the work being created, memorising spaces or landscapes by using their actual constituents, sometimes over a period of several years. Maddie Rose Hills (b.1993) lives and works in South London where she has exhibited widely including the Copeland Gallery and the Cadogan Contemporary as well as Emerging Artists, 45 Park Lane. She also exhibits in Paris and Barcelona. In 2016 she was invited to Iceland as part of the Wildfjords Artist Residency (WFAR). Her work is in the British Airways Public Collection as well as private collections in France, Poland and London.
